Hosted by The Green Man, this exciting showcase will feature collaborative performances inspired by themes about the natural environment.

Nationally-acclaimed contemporary dance artist, Sylvain Brochu and musician/composer, Nir Blu will perform together.  Sylvain Brochu will also perform Morphosis, a piece that evokes human being’s internal conflict when faced with accepting its animal nature.

What happens when the circus meets the rainforest? That’s what eight artists – two dancers, two actors, a film-maker, a musician, a poet, and an installation artist/puppeteer – found out this past summer. The Rainforest Circus, a premier production at the Synchronicity Festival in August, was the result of this journey. Come see what happens when we try to bring The Rainforest Circus into the theatre… Can it be contained?

Stefan Smulovitz (laptop artist/composer), Viviane Houle (vocalist) and Eyvind Kang (violin and viola) will perform a live improvised sound track to The Man Who Planted Trees, an award-winning film about a man who transforms a desert landscape into a forest.

The Man Who Planted Trees is presented with permission from the Jean Giono estate and Radio Canada, copyright for the text: Gallimard Publishing and English translation by Jean Roberts.
